Welcome to My Inner Voice

Welcome to My Inner Voice: a blog where I share my thoughts, insights, and experiences with disordered eating, as well as much of my work in poetry, writing, and more.

Recovery

I understand just how difficult life can be dealing with an eating disorder. Part of this site serves to help encourage and inspire others who are on their path of recovery. It is not a tool used to give medical advice, nor should it be viewed as something that can “solve” your personal struggles. Though I am continually striving to do what is best for myself and take care of my well-being, I still consider myself in recovery—a journey that I feel I may be on for the rest of my life.

That said, I encourage anyone who is struggling with disordered eating or who believes that they may be dealing with an eating disorder to seek medical and mental health care. I also urge you to speak to a loved one or trusted friend about your circumstances, regardless of their severity. Most of all, I hope you know that even if you may not know me personally, I support you and your journey. I will be there alongside you, actively working toward a better quality and appreciation of life also. I hope you can remember this as you heal.

As I share my journey through recovery, I invite you to listen to your own inner voice and let it guide you toward a life of greater inner peace.

My Writing

In many ways inspired by my journey through recovery as well as a cumulation of life struggles experienced, My Inner Voice also acts as a safe haven for my work: blog posts/essays, poetry, books, music, and more. As I travel further down the road of studying English, literature, creative writing, philosophy, and more, both in my schooling and in my personal life, hopefully my site can develop into something greater along the way. For now, I hope you enjoy reading some of my work while getting a glimpse into my mind, heart, and soul as you navigate the various pages of this blog.
